Rescue

For many dogs, the journey begins on the street. HEART works in the field to safely bring abandoned, injured, frightened, and vulnerable dogs out of dangerous situations and into care. Sometimes that takes patience. Sometimes it takes a trap, a lot of treats, and hours of waiting. Whatever it takes, we meet them where they are.

Rehabilitation

Rescue is only the beginning. Once a dog is safe, we focus on what they need as an individual, from veterinary care and good nutrition to time, patience, trust, and the experience of living in a loving foster home. There is no timetable. Each dog gets the chance to heal at their own pace.

Forever Family

Everything we do leads here: finding the family that's right for each dog. We take the time to make thoughtful matches so the dogs in our care don't simply find a home. They find the home where they can belong happily for the rest of their lives. Here are a few of our happy tails…
